For some reasons, many individuals associate holidays with trip to foreign countries. While planning their holidays, they usually don’t even consider extraordinary places in their own country. Instead of it, they choose trips to foreign countries, without even thinking about choosing a place in their own country. In a consequence, plenty of men and females are not familiar with their own country. They have a lot of memories and experiences from foreign countires, but when somebody asks something about their own country, it turns out that they don’t know practically anything about attractive places there.
Therefore, this short article, would try to inspire you to spend your holiday in a little different way this year. What if, instead of leaving abroad again, you would decide to discover amazing spots based in your own country? Let’s assume, that you come from the south of Poland. There is a big chance, that you are convinced that you already know much about your country and you contemplate other parts of it to be extremely similar to your city. Nonetheless, that may be your mistake What is the reason? the reason is rather simple. Because if you live in the South of Poland, this is much closer to, for example, Czech Republic, that to Gdansk. Due to this, even though the language is different, there is a big chance that the culture or cuisine you present in your everyday life, are more similar to these of neighboring country, than to other part of Poland.
Thus, why won’t you buy flights to Gdansk this summer. This part of Poland (see jwp) has plenty to offer. For example, do you know the wondering history of Gdansk? For many years it has been one of the proudest city in Poland. City, that stayed independent for many years. City, where the history of Solidarnosc movement started. I am voncinced, that you already know about it from history lessons from school times (read more). Nevertheless, how much you genuinely know about this history? Would you be able to explain this story for any foreigner that asks you for it? And what about the local cuisine? Do you know that it has far more to try than only fish? What about other parts of the country? Possibly you would prefer to take flights to Katowice? Have you ever heard that this is the largest metropolitan area in Central and Eastern Europe?
I wish that all of these listed questions will become an inspiration for your summer detination this year. Instead of choosing a foreign country, why don’t you try to discover your own country. Act like a tourist, avoid being local. Stay curious, keep an open mind. Pose questions, do your best to understand local story, try local food. I am convinced that you will discover that every region has its own amazing atmosphere, which can be even more interesting than trip to foreign countries!
